Tile Hastings Drum and Fife Band, under Conductor A. A. George, was also present, and their playing was greatly appreciated. Each male was presented with tobacco and each female with a handkerchief. 1

The same presents will be forwarded to those inmates who were unable to corne, and it may be mentioned that the Taradale committee provided these also with a liberal supply’ of ’efreshments. The old people left for the home at 3 o’clock well pleased with the reception that had been given them.
