SERIOUS SHORTAGE OF COAL
INTENSIFIED BY FREEZING

[AUSTRALIAN AND N.Z. CABLE ASSN.] (Received 27, 11.25 a.m.) ’ Paris, Jan. 26. The shortage and exhorbit ant price of coal is intensified by the effect of a severe frost. It costs 10/per cwt. The Government is taking a sten to meet the dearth. The canals of Paris have begun to freeze, further handicapping coal transport.
