The final concert of the tJnited Temperance Guild will be held in the Wesley Hastings, to-night at 7.30, when prizes will be presented. No cases of infectious diseases have been reported in Napier and the surrounding districts for nearly two weeks. A reminder is given of the smoke concert to be held in. the .Hastings Oddfellows’ Hall to-night, in aid of the widow of the late Porter Maggin who lost his life in an accident at the Hastings Railway Station. A The dairy- farmers’ advisory committee has decided not to take further action regarding the testing of the validity- of an Order-in-Council with regard to the export of butter. —Press Association. splendid programme of varied items has been arranged and as the promoters have done everything possible towards making the concert a success, intending patrons are assured of a most enjoyable evening’s entertainment. Mr. and Mrs. F. Tonkin who have been to Wellington to see their son Lieut. A. S. Tonkin, returned to Hastings last night. Lieut. Tonkin was to have left with the 19th Reinforcements, but having contracted measles a few days prior to the transport sailing, had to remain behind.
