WAIPUKURAU.
(Own Correspondent). On Saturday afternoon, a lengthy shower somewhat damped the official opening of the tennis courts. There was a good attendance of members and friends. The reappearance of old King Sol permitted the playing of several games. Afternoon, tea was provided by Miss York and Mrs. Broad. A heavy thunderstorm passed over the town on Sunday afternoon. The passing showers are stimulating growth and the country is looking at its best. , On Thursday evening the recruits for the 23rd Reinforcements are to be farewelled at a social in the Town Hall. The proceeds are to be devoted to the purchase of a Roll of Honour board.
