WAIPAWA PATRIOTIC FUNDS

The local oatriocic shop was run on Saturday last (as is customary every fourt.i week) in the interest of Red Cross work and the business done was very satisfactory, the sum of £35 being taken for the day. On Friday last the Ladies’ Patriotic Committee forwarded thirty parcels to the headquarters ot the Countess of Liverpool Fund, Wellington, to be forwarded on with the • Dominion gifts for the boys in the firing line. A promise of 25 parcels per month had been made but the extra number of gifts received at time of packing enabled the committee to supplement the number by five. Miss Johnsan was the hostess for the afternoon and contributions for the parcels were received as follows : Alesdames Clark, D. Ale Lean, Harding, Ness, See. Boyle, Calwill, H. Ale Lean. H.
