WAIPUKURAU MOTHER’S UNION.

(Own Correspondent.) There was a good attendance, of members of the Mothers’ Union monthly business meeting on Fridaylast. An interesting letter was read from 11m Rev. N. O. White acknowledging receipt of comforts from the union and conveying the information that be is now appointed chaplain aboard 'tnyi-*transports* to and from New Zealand. At his request a case of comforts, etc., will be forwarded to him for distribution among the rar-n on -their departure from New Zealand. He asks for books, magazines, writing paper, games, balls of string, packets of L'lly crystals, good chorus songs, Harry Lauder, etc. Anyone willing to contribute to the box may leave precis with Mrs. Reid, secretary. A case cf children’s garments will be sent to England for distribution among children affected, by the war, when shipping space is available. In the meanwhile we shall be pleased to receive gifts of garments or material which the guild members will make irn. Monetary. gifts will be very 7 gratefully’ accepted and may be sent to either Mrs. J. E. Reid or Airs. St ace.

It v.c.s decided that a sewing machine should be purchased, for use of the guild, Mesdant.es Bryce, llopkirk. Seymour and Keid charge of a progressive euchre party evening on November 6th, proceeds towards purchase of machine. Tae secretary was instructed to write a letter conveying the deepest symnathy of members of the union to Mrs. Jantcr Atkin on the death of her son. who was recoiitly killed in action in France. The following gifts arc acknowledged with thanks Children’s garment box from Asldey Clinton bchool children (per Miss McNutt), Misses Eva Tanisbury, Affie Seymour, Jennie Heymour. Mrytle Barnes.
