RISSINGTON.

(Own Correspondent). Mrs. J. H. Absolom is sending away this week a box, containing clothing which represents the work of the Rissington Women’s Work Society for the year to Dr. Barnardo’s Homes. This branch of the Society’s work is organised by Mrs. Absolom, who provides most of the materials for the sewing. One hundred and ninety-seven garments are being packed. There are twentysix woollen dresses; 2 dressing gow-ns, 6 blouses, 12 flannel petticoats. 10 flannel night dresses , 10 flannel vests, 33 cotton overalls and dresses. 3 eider-downs, 3 blankets, 8 cot blankets, boys’ tunics, skirts, knitted caps, mufflers and socks. Miss Spencer, who is leaving Rissington for England, where she will take up war work, has been presented with many tokens of esteem by the residents, the Work Society and Sunday School. She will be much missed by those amongst whom she has worked for six years.
