Carterton, Oct. 25. The Carterton Pastoral and Agricultural Show opened to-day, in wet weather, and with an average attendance. The judging did not commerce until late. Very few awards had been made known by 1 o’clock. Mr. Bland Rayner defeated Mr. Wm. Perry in Lincoln rams over thirty months, but the champion Lincoln ram is being shown by Mr. H. Gaisford, of Richmond, and Mr. Fermie, of Hastings, secured the championship for Southdown ram. Other championships include Shorthorn bull, Sir W. Buchanan; cow, Mr. W. Howard Booth; Hereford bull, Mr. DonaM McKenzie; cow, Mr. G. R. Beamish.
