Bishop Sedgwick visited the Parish on Tuesday in order to hold two confirmation services in All Saints Church. The Bishop held a private confirmation service in the afternoon when two adult members were confirmed, and in the evening five young members of the Church took the vows of confirmation. There was a good congregation and the Bishop spoke very impressively. The collection which was taken up will go towards funds to buy books for the choir. Mrs. L. Brown presided at the organ. The pupils of the district school all _ assembled on Tuesday after their few days’ holiday, quite eager for lessons, and to continue their practices for the forth-coming concert. The teachers who were on sick leave, have also returned to duty.

The traction engines are on the road again, carting their usual loads of timber from Puketitiri to Hastings and Napier. The amateur gardener this season has had quite an anxious time with the slugs, due to the wet season, but now he is enjoying green peas, and new potatoes, in spite of slugs and frosts. s

A few days ago we had the excitement of filling in the census paper. That over, we have now the application for Registration of an Orchard to fill in.
