[ The Napier Chamber of Commerce met yesterday afternoon, Mr. C. H. ! Edwards presiding. I A letter was received from the ! Postal Department expressing the | opinion that a wireless station was [ not necessary on the East Coast. j The chairman reported that the question of the necessity for monthly addenda cards in connection with the telephone exchange was coming up at the forthcoming conference in Wellington. A resolution from the Rotorua Chamber of Commerce, urging the use of prison labour for the making and maintenance of roads, was, on the motion of Mr. Ellison, seconded by Mr. R. L. Paterson, heartily approved. The Napier 30,000 Club asked for support to a resolution requesting the Government to acquire Dartmoor estate for closer settlement.— Mr. Paterson supported the proposition. —Approved.
