FIRE BRIGADE COMPETITION.

RESULTS. The annual competitions of the Napier Afolunteer Fire Brigade were run off yesterday morning. Folloxving are the results: —Five men reel event: Men to run 10 yards, take reel 50 yards to plug, fix hydrant and run cut 50ft. of hose. Fix branch and strike disc v.’ith water. Disconnect branch and insert union, run out 50ft. hose from each union, fix branches and strike disc with water. Return to hydrant arid replace first delivery and with both waters strike discs. Knot to be tied in female end of damaged length. Only two branches allowed. Hose not to be taken off reel until reaching 10 yards mark and reel to be taken back to within five yards of plug and unions: ■ —-Redshaw, Thompson, Boardman, Brock, Lanning (no penalty}, time Imin. 26secs; Ashworth, Palmer, Kidson, Byles, Dunstall 2, Imin. 25secs., penalty 6sec., time Imin. 31secs; Ennor, Robinson, Berry, Bradley, Reed 3, Imin. 30 3-ssecs, penalty Isec, time Imin. 31 3-ssecsl Three men wet event: Men to run five yards to gear, pick up gear and run 15 yards to plug, fix hydrant and run out 50ft. of hose. Insert union, run out 50ft. of hose from each union, fix branches, and with water strike discs. Disconnect right Jiand lead from union, and with water strike discs. Disconnect right hand lead from union, and with water strike discs. Knot to be tied in female end of damaged length:— Ennor, Bradley, Brock 1, actual time 57 l-ssee, handicap ssee, net time 521 se c; Robinson, Berry, Kidson 2, actual time 60 l-ssec, handicap 7sec, net time 53 l-ssec; Ashworth, Reed, Byles 3, actual time 53 2-ssecs. Single-handed dry event: Man to start 20 yards from plug, fix hydrant and run out 50ft. of nose, connect extra 50ft, insert union, connect 50ft hose to each delivery. Fix branches and finish five yards in front: —Hillson (jun.) 1, actual time 59 2-ssee, handicap 12sec, net time 47 2-ssec ; Oshvforth 2,52 sec. Silvester 3, Imin. 35 l-ssecs.
