DANNEVIRKE MOTOR CYCLE RACES.
FAST TIMES RECORDED. (Special to the “Tribune.”) Dannevirke, Oct. 23.
The Dannevirke Motor Cycle Club’s sports were held here to-day on the racecourse in glorious weather. The track was in perfect order. Twenty-seven from all over the North Island, absolutely the cream of motor ritcers, took part, and some fast times were recorded. There was a record attendance oi the public present,, including a large number from Hastings and Napier. The following are the re suits up to the time of going to press : — Novice Race, 5 laps.-—A. Rowe 1. A. Mangham 2, F. Allardice 3 Time. 6min. 48sec. A.C.N. Handicap, 8 laps.—L. Mangham (Excelsior, 7h.p.), 1; L. Limbrick (8.5. A. 4n.p.), 2; J._ A. j Karton (Triumph, 3| h.p.), 3. Time. | lOmin. 31secs (actual time, Bmin. ; 26secs). A good race. i No. 2 Light-weight Championship. 7 laps.—J. Dawber (Douglas, 2) h.p.), 1 ; R. J. Jones (N.U.T., 2\ h.p.), 2; A. S. Nash (Douglas, 2/ h.p.), 3. Time, Bmin. 58secs.
