Nine Japanese labour unions have been formed and are affiliating to form a Japanese Labour Council. Tiie movement, which will be extended throughout the Pacific States and British columb.a, is the outcome of the suggestion of the President oi the American Federation of Labour, to eliminate unfair competition by the Japanese by establishing the same wages, working hours, and conditions that arc maintained in the American unions, and to raise the standard of living among the ■Japanese. PRESIDENTAL ELECTION. LABOUR FED. SUPPORTS WILSON. [AUSTRALIAN AND N.Z. CABLE ASSN.] (Received 23. 10.10 a.m.) New York,Oct. 22. The American Federation of Labour have endorsed Dr. Wilson’s candidature. This is the first time the federation has openly supported any prc-sidental candidate.
