The fortnightly meeting of the Loyal Hastings Lodge. 1.0.0. F. M.U. was held in the Oddfelloxvs' Hall. Hastings, last evening, Bro. C. G. Cunnold presiding as N.G. Apologies were received for absence of Bros. T. F. Scott. P.G.. and, P.P.G.M. Bro. G. D. Love. An invitation xxas received from the Hibernian Society to attend a card tournament in St. Patrick’s Hall on Wednesday next. The social committee reported that a combined tournament was being arranged amongst all the lodges for the Tuesday. and it was decided to defer this latter function and accept the invitation of the H.A.C.B.S. for Wednesday. Bro. W. R. Harrison, who leaves for Trentham on the 17th with the Sti.i reinforcements, was accorded a vote of appreciation and received the best wishes of the lodge. It was mentioned that Bro. (’. Honeyman and visiting Bro. S. 1. Dixon (of Napier Lodge) were also members of the Bth. Bro. W. H. Walker replied in person to certain statements in his lodge doctor’s recent letter to the lodge, and this being supported by documentary evidence in the hands of the secretary it was resolved to notify the doctor concerned that the lodge is quite satisfied with Bro. Walker s explanation, and considers that lie has not in any way imposed on the lodge or the medical officer. P.G.M. Bro. T. Keith and P.G. Bro. A. E. Boyle were appointed to select the twelve players to represent the lodge at the card tourney for th<. Vigor Brown Shield on the 19th inst.
