FAREWELL TO CAPTAIN McKIBBiN.
Tim i liieeis; ami member, of the Eureka lodge, met at the resilience of Captain McKibhin. on Thursday evening, to hid him goodbye before leaving for the front. P.G.P. Bro. Wade paid a high tribute to our lodge surgeon for services rendered. P.D.P. Bro. Brown also spoke in regard to the good work done by t ie doctor for the h.'lg". Secretary A ('. Johnstone in a. few remarks testified to the kindm-s** and courtisv <>f Dr. McKibbin. They had some ratbei- awkward things to deal witii al times Imt he i-oitlil .honestly say that after talking it over together. Dr. MeKibbin had always met him mt re than half way and in the man n* r< f a gentleman. He lii’itsej!’. had pm-somtl knowledge <>f many kindly act done by i)r. McKibbiii that tii:.' public never heard < f. They as a '• *‘dy of members, wore sorry to les*- him. I m. realised his servict.s. wore needed among the boys at. the front. He presented Captain MeKibbin with a handsome dressing ea'.-fc' as a token of the esteem in which h*' was hold by members of the local lodge. They wished him Get! Speed, in the noble work he was going to, and a safe return. Captain MeKibbin, replying, expressed his pleasure in accepting t -,e gift, and said he had done his best t<> give satisfaction and hetrust ed he ha.*! succeeded. As the secretary said when knotty things had come along they had talked it over and always found a. way out satisfactory to both sides. He wished to I'linvey I<> the whol*' of the members of Enreya Lodge his thanks and appreciation of ill* ii- gift and good wishes which h*- valued greatly. The health of Dr. and Mrs. McKibbin wa.s then drank and after an hour of pleasant intercourse the meeting tern limited.
