THREE BIG CRUISERS TORPEDOED By German Submarines. (Extraordinary Press Association.) “TIMES” AND “SYDNEY BUN” SERVICES. (Received 22. 12..'!(> p.m.) London, Sept. 22. The armoured cruisers Aboukir, Cressy and Hogue have been torpedoed by German submarines in the North Sea. [Each of the ill-fated cruisers were of 12,000 tens. Their armament was two 9.2 in and twelve 6in guns. The Aboukir and Hogue were built in 1900, and the C’ressv was built in ISO 9. j
