AN EXPLORER’S RETURN.
(Received 12, 9.25 a.m.) Svdney, Aug. 12. Sir Rupert Clarke lias returned from his expixlition on tho Fly river in Papua. Ho verified Sir William MacGregor’s charts. He was forced to abandon two boats, but continued for a further 30 miles to the toot of Mount Donaldson, where he planted the Union Jack. He managed to nvoitl hostile relations with the native-, although trouble threatened.
