SCHOOL COMMITTEES.

MAHORA SOUTH SCHOOL.

The South Mahora School Committee met last evening at the Stortford Hall. Present: Mr. Lascelles (chairman), Messrs. G. W. Warren, R. Wellwohd, Baird and Chappel. | The headmaster reported that 1'73 pupils were enrolled the first week. The roll to-day numbered 178. The secretary was instructed to write to the Borough Council calling attention to the absolute need of a footpath from Pepper street to the school entrance in Gordon road. The chairman was authorised to open a bank account, arrange for tidying school grounds, and entrances from Oliphant road and other small matters. The contractors are making good progress with the new school which will be a very handsome building and it is expected that it will be ready for occupation * early next mcinth. ;
