The second sale of the 1913-14 series was held to-day, when 22,135 bales were offered, as against 27,096 at the corresponding sale last year. There was a full attendance of buyers, and Home and American representatives participated in the sale to a much greater extent than at the opening sale. One American buyer seetired a line at 13d. Competition throughout was much more brisk and passings comparatively few. All classes showed a slight advance," halfbred and Corriedale being eagerly sought after. A little merino was offered. Halfbred made to13id, three-quarterbred BJd to 12d; merino 9]d to 12id, crossbred 9Jd to lljd» long-wool to lOd, Corriedale 9 a d to 13|d, Down wool 10fd to lid, wliilst all classes of pieces sold at slightly advanced prices.
