HAWKE’S BAY CENTRE

There was a full attendance of delegates at a meeting of the H.B. Centre held in Napier on Saturday evening at the Caledonian Hotel. T. occupied the chair. The H.B. provincial championships for this season were allotted as follows : —5O yards, Gisborne Club ; 100 yards breast stroke, Napier Club; 449 yards, Club ; 100 yards, Port Ahuriri Club; 220 yards, Te Awa Club ; diving, Kia Ora Club; teams race, Life-saving Society; polo championship and schoolboys’ and schoolgirls’ races, the Centre.

The rules were revised and it was decided to forward copies of the same to all affiliated clubs and to call a special meeting of the centre at a later date when the rules could be considered and adopted. The following motion moved by the Napier Club’s delegate was passed and a copy of the motion ordered to be sent to the N.Z. Council : —‘‘That the Centre controlling the N.Z. Championships Carnival should retain the nomination fees and also a part of the affiliation fees instead of the council receiving the lot as at present.” A vote of thanks was passed cd Mr. A. A. George for presenting the medals for the schoolboys and girls races.

It was decided to again make application to the council for ( the standard certificates won by local swimmers at the last N.Z. championship meeting at AVanganui. The N.Z. Council wrote intimating that the N.Z. Championships for 1915 had been allotted to Hawke’s Ba.v.

AUSTRALIAN CHAMPIONSHIPS
