The suffragettes victimised a large number of public and professional men throughout the country by sending a leaflet envelope containing a halfpenny, whereon the Post Office surtaxed the recipient sixpence for an unregistered letter containing coin.
There were uproarious scenes at Miss Kenny’s meeting at Nottingham. Fireworks and detonators were discharged which destroyed were discharged which destroyed the banners and smashed the windows.
NO TRICKS NEAR THE RIVER

Members of the Social and Political Association are parading the river front daily during the practice of the University crews. Boatmen are instructed to duck them summarily if they attempt to interfere with the boats.

The Government is considering the necessity of strengthening the lay- to deal with suffragist outrages.
