Mr. T. H. Lowry, who hits for the past J 5 years been a director of the Hawke’s Bay and North British Freezing Company has resigned from the directorate. H. G. Denham, studentof Canterbury College and subsequently attached to the Liverpool University, has been apointed lecturer in chemistry at the Brisbane University. Very Rev. Dean Rcgnault. S.M., Provincial of the Marist Order, and a number of the clergy who have been attending the opening ceremonies at the Meanee Seminary, left for the south this morning.

He bought 2200 acres in Little Grey Valiev, which he improved, and has resided on it ever since. It carries 1800 sheep and 300 head of cattle, and has a building like an English farmhouse. He visited England in 1886. and subsequently bought 2000 acres at Pakarae, in Poverty Bay. but sold it recently at an enormous profit ,as it was vastly improved. He leaves a widow, four sons and six daughters, including Mrs. Marshall, wife of the Hon. James Marshall, ML. C. He died peacefully at the age of 82.
