A cable from London announces the death of Clark Rm sell, novelist. Mr and Mrs W. J. Stratton left Hastings this morning for Wellington.
Mr. T. Tudhope. Wellington Lands Department , is being transierred to Napier. A London cablegram states that Mr. Henniker Heaton is re: timing to Australia .
Ur. T. E. Taylor leaves Napier tomorrow evening -an a holiday visit to AVellington.
A New York cablegram states that Joseph Smith, head of the Mormon ('Lurch in Salt Lake City is dead. Miss Al. Ranzi, of the Napier Telephone Exchange, returned this morning from a holiday trip to Gisborne. Capt. Morrison, of the Defence Department. left Napier by the express tiain for Eketahuna this morning. Mr. and Mrs. Greenfield, of <lisIxirne. left Napier by- tlie Taravvera this afternoon for AA'ellngton en route for Nelson.
Aliss Kennedy, of the Auckland Lands Department, has been notified of her transl’ci’ to the Napier office.
Messrs. C. Holden and T. J. Lang, of the Napier Lands Department, have received notice of their transfer to Wellington, and will shortly leave for that city.
