COURT OF APPEAL.
LUCENE v. NATIONAL INSURANCE. t Wellington, Aug. 1. In the case Lucene v. National Mutual Insurance Company the court reserved judgment.
CUSTODY OF CHILDREN. The court is now occupied in hearing an appeal by Oliver Mewhinney’ against a decree giving the custody of his children to Mrs Mewhinney. The case arises out of divorce proceedings. Mewhinney is conducting the appeal personally, and Mr. Gray is appearing for Mrs. Mew’hmney. Mewhinney some time ago was imprisoned for a fortnight for contempt of court in refusing to give up the children.
