WEEKLY REPORT. The New Zealand Farmers’ Cooperative Distributing Co., Ltd., report as followsWellington, Feb. 10. Potatoes have been in rather short supply, and values higher. Southern early grown are now reaching here, and there is every probability of a decline as supply from south increases. We advise North Island clients to sell while the market is favourable. Canterbury Globe Onions, as well as Australian, can be landed at nominal rates. In fruit, the chief feature of recent sales has been the keen demand at high prices for highly coloured dessert apples and pears. We to-day sold purple plums at 5/6, while Organs were hard to quit at 2/-. The late discharge of cargo from Nelson and Motueka boats often necessitated holding lots over till next day, hence the delay in arrival of some of our clients’ returns. Eggs are firmer, and keenly enquired for. Grass seed orders are now reaching us by each mail, and large quantities are going forward.
