Mr A. McGlashan left Hastings for Dunedin this morning.

Father Saunderson returned to Waipawa yesterday afternoon.

Mrs. E. Newbegin left Hastings for Wellington by the mail train this morning.

Air. E. T. James left Hastings for Wellington this morning on a visit combining business with pleasure. Miss Hughes was a passenger for Wellington by this morning’s express from Hastings.

The funeral of the late Mr. Arthur George Millward, of the Railway Department, took place at Wellington on Thursday morning, the interment being in the Bolton street Cemetery. Before the cortege started a short service. conducted by Archdeacon Harper, was held in St. Peter’s Church. Mr. Alillward Anderson, nephed of deceased, played his uncle’s favourite hymns prior to the service and the Dead March in “Saul” as the mourners left the Church. The chief mourners wore ATessrs. W.
