The House of Representatives rejected by three votes Mr Burke Cockran’s resolution directing a judicial committee to investigate the recent pension order. This narrow majority is the sharpest censure that President Roosevelt has yet received. Mr Cochran declared that legislative authority had been usurped, a stroke of the. pen appropriating thirty million dollars.
