THIBET EXPEDITION.

CABLEGRAMS.

[PER PRESS ASSOCIATION.—COPYRIGHT.

(Received April 11, 11.7 p.m.) LONDON, April 11. Major Macdonald’s force escorting Colonel Younghusband, has arrived at Salu. The Thibetans withdrew eight miles north of Kangma. (Received March 12, 0.59 a.m.) After a sharp encounter with a few mounted troops the Thibetans abandoned their position south of Kangma, which could only otherwise have been taken by a frontal attack. It consisted of a heavy stone wall crossing the valley and connected by seventeen sangers stretching eastward up the hills. It is reported that three thousand Thibetans are occupying a post five miles south of Gyangtse.
