WAIPAWA.

[OWN COBBEBPONPINT.] The annual meeting of the Waipawa Volunteer Fire Brigade was held on Friday evening. Captain F. Downer presided. The balance-sheet, which showed £3 12s Id to credit in bank, was r&d and adopted. The following officers were elected: —Lieutenant, L. Grenside; senior foreman, M. Sebley; junior foreman, Albert Collett; second branchman, M. Moroney; auditor, Mr S. Johnson (re-elected). Messrs Downer and Grenside and the two branchmen were appointed a committee to revise the rules. It was decided to apply to the Town Board for a grant to enable the room over the brigade station to be used for meetings of the brigade. Mr H, Ford was elected an honorary member.

At an Old-age Pension Court held on Thursday, pensions were granted to S. Oatham, J. Matheson, D. Taylor, A. Livingstone, and W. Carr, each £18; George Reid, £l6; M. Hallesey, £l7; and Mrs C. Parkinson, £ll.
