ISOLATED CHINESE.
[PRESS ASSOCIATION.] WANGANUI, Wednesday. Considerable curiosity was aroused in town this afternoon by the action of the police in shutting up a Chinese fruit shop in Victoria-avenue and isolating the shopkeeper and his assistants- The officials are very reticent, but it appears from what can be gathered that the Chinese are suspected of having been in contact with a Chinaman who is now in Wellington under observation for a supposed infectious disease.
