THEFT FROM A POSTOFFICE.
, [press association.] NELSON, Tuesday. The arrest has been effected at Motupiko of a man calling himself Cripps, who is charged with stealing £7 from his employer, Drummond. After a long chase on the hills a clever capture was effected at tire point of the revolver. It transpires that Cripps is a man named Madigan, against whom a warrant has been out since February, 1903, for the alleged theft of £36 from the Hastings post-office.
