HAWKE'S BAY GUN CLUB.
The Hawke’s Bay Gun Club held a match for the Gun Club Cup trophy, and three sweepstake handicap matches at Whakatn on Friday. The Cup trophy was won by 0. Nelson, who shot seven birds without a miss. G, B King, W. Alexindsr, end G. Groome each shot sis birds and tied for second placs. After the cup match threa handicap sweepstakes at five birds were fired, the first resulting in a tie between G. S. King, T. Parker, W. Alexander, and J. Whittle. In the second match G. Groome and W. h'amsay killed five birds and divided the stakes, and in the third match G. E. King, T. Parker, W. Alexander, and J. Whittle killed five and divided the ctsk:s. Strong birds were got for the matches, which, with the gale blowing at the time, made the shooting difficult. The following were the scores:—
