ROWING ASSOCIAION.

[PBKBS ASSOCIATION.]

Wellington, Saturday. Last sight’s meeting of the New Zealand Amateur Bowing Association lasted till nearly midnight. 'lhe new rules, as circulated among the clubs, ware passed without material amendment, and it was decided that they be brought into force on January Sth, 1903, when the centre form of government will come into operation. At the aaggeitian of the Union Bowing Club, Christchurch, it was resolved that the central committee of the New Zealand Assentation should in future be known as the council instead of as the managing committee, and the constitution and rules were altered accordingly. A motion was carried that the minutes, which a previous meeting refused to confirm on the ground of the alleged informality of the Fioton Club’s vote, were a correct record of the actual [proceedings at the meeting in question, and that they be confirmed. Mr M. P. Marks, representing the Waitemata Club, gave notice to move at next meeting that a plebiscite of clubs be taken with a view to ascertaining whether they are agreeable to an increase in subscriptions sufficient to enable tholfew Zealand Amateur Bowing Association to undertake the whole financial responsibility of the championship regattas. Christchurch, Saturday.

The boating season opened this afternoon. The weather was fine, and a large crowd assembled. The usual procession of boats, some of which were tastefully decorated, was held, and a programme of races was got off.
