Dunedin, Friday. Hr Bcott, the Liberal candidate for Bruce, opened the campaign at Milton last night. He declared himself an out-and-out supporter of the Government. The political campaign opened in Ashbnrtou to-night, when Mr William Breok addressed the electors. He declared himself a Liberal and a supporter of the present Government. He favored the lease in perpetuity system without the right of acquiring the freehold, economical administration, the referendum, an elective Executive, limited borrowing for remunerative works, free secondary education, and universal old age pensions. He was accorded a favorable heating and a vote of thanks.
