Wellington, Tuesday. The question of the disposition of the money remaining in hand from the Wellington more men fund (£176), raised when the Third Contingent went sway, was discussed at a meeting of the committee to-day. It was suggested that the sum should be banded over to augment the Queen’s statue fond, but exception was taken to this by several of the speakers, who contended that the money should be retained for assisting some of the ■ men who required help or the relatival of tijbse who died. In reply to the latter objection the Mayor pointed out that the patriotic fund provided for such eatec. It was finally decided to oail a BoWio meeting on Tuesday, when a reioIntion in favor of giving the money to the statue fund will bo submitted.
