The matron of the County Hospital ra. ports as follows for tho past week; Forty in-patients, including nine females; three males and one female admitted daring tho weokj four males and one female discharged; two males and one female died (no names given). At the monthly meeting of the Waipawa Fire Brigade Mr H. Gobble woe elected a working member. Capfain Williams presented tho framed photo shield of the members, referred to yesterday, to Foreman P. Downer on tho occasion of his marriage, who returned thanks, Tho other business was formal. According to the latest news from Fiji Mr A. H. Witherow, of Eowa, son of the late Mr J. Witherow, of Patangata, had been brutally assaulted by Fijian laborers. Sixteen arrests had been made, and six natives were departed.
