TRAWLING.

[bt TELEQBATH,] Auckland, Tuesday. To-day Mr Ayaon, Inspector of Fisheries, attended at the Harbor Board offices as Commissioner, appointed to take evidence on the question of trawling for fish in the Hauraki Golf. Mr Ayson was appointed as the result of petitions presented to Parliament recently, asserting that the practice of trawling was destroying the fish supply in the Hauraki Gulf. A number of those interested in the fishing industry gave evidence.
