H.B. BOARD OF RABBIT TRUSTEES.

[hastinos correspondent.] A meeting of the above Board waß held in the Borough Counoil Chamber, Hastings, yesterday. There were present the ohairman (Mr T. Crosse), Messrs J. N. Williams, Shrimpton, Waterhouse, and M'Hardy, Stock Inspector Miller, ohief Rabbit Inspector Walsh, and Inspeotor C. Tiokner, were also present. GENERAL BUSINESS. The Weber Babbit Assooiation wrote suggesting an inorease in number of polling booths at the. next eleotion. — Matter will receive attention in due course, when the Board arranges the situation- of the polling booths. From. Inspeotor Campbell, explaining evidence in his oase v. Mount Vernon estate.— lt was decided that the manner of compiling inspector's reports be left in the hands of the chairman. From A. L. Allen, requesting inspection to be made of some neighboring properties —The ohief inspeotor to attend to the matter as soon as possible. Payments for the month amounting to £208 lis 6d were passed. Mr Williamß moved, " That the question of the employment of solicitors to conduct cases brought by the Board's inspectors in Court be left in the hands of the ohairman." —Mr Shrimpton seconded, and the motion was oarried unanimously. The chairman and Mr Waterhouse were appointed flnanoe committee for the July meeting. It was resolved that additional assistance be granted to Inspeotor C. Tiokner, to do further poisoning in the Wakarara

distriot, the appointment of a man to be left to the chief inspeotor ; also that the ' chief inspeotor be authorised to employ assistance for four months, to thoroughly inspeot the Patea country. Started rabbit on Clifton; being attended to. No freah signs Tuki Tuki or Kaiwaka; latter ; greatly improved. Native reserve, '. Tongoio, and Tanners', no fresh signs. ; Killed rabbit on Wallace's; Bioknell's, | Puketapu, slight traces, also on Hayts', 1 Hakowai. Several traces on Higgins', Moteo ;_ killed two rabbits on Hendley, ; bnt slight improvement; no Bigns on ' Whaka range; started rabbit on Potter's. Hukanui, Patofca, slight traces. INSPECTOK CAMPBELL. Hunted Poukawa Lake ; saw rabbit on Te Mahanga in bush near Tuki Tuki; sent notice to Mr Douglas. Hunted Collinson's, Milburn bush, Poukawa reserve, Maori ground, and Kelly's. Obtained conviotion at Waipawa S.M. Court against Matheson ; fined £1 and costs. To Onepu, started rabbit on Otuaramea; to Taheki, killed rabbit near Manganoka, gave Mr Mason notice. To Tauroa, Te Mate, Mokopeka, killed rabbit on latter, and saw another in Horseshoe ; gave Mr Chambers' notice. On Moore's Waimarama, Okaihau; on Donnelly's Waimarama, saw rabbit on Waipuka, sea face. Hunted Mount Vernon ; sent notice to Mr Donnelly. INSPECTOR M'PHEESON. At Ngapaeruru opposite Mangatoro; traces on Sorimgeour'a and Drummond's ; saw rabbit on Arena's ; signs in Pokomoko bush; Waewaepa boundaries and Kaitoke to Jensen's, killed rabbit on latter. On front Kaitoke, no signs ; fow on spur at centre ; Smith and Cadman's block; killed rabbit on Pitzjohn's. Blairgowrie, Bigns on new burn. At Matamau, killed six rabbits on France's ; rabbiter at work ; traces in Boßher's bush. Tanner's, at Matamau, no signs ; traces on fence line between Piripiri and Otango blocks ; S.W. sections Ngapaeruru, signs on Clarke's, Wiffln's, and Resides. Started rabbit on 0. Olsen's; fresh signs on Steel's and M' Allan's* saw two rabbits on Hakomai and started two in Koponui ; oattle station, Mangatoro, several fresh signs about manuka scrub; rabbit fence to Pakutoi's, baok through Pharazyn's new burn; saw rabbit and signs; Holder's river bedß, signs on provincial boundary; through Crosses, saw rabbit opposite Peart's another near old homestead; signs on J. Hewitt's spur. To Totara Valley, several signs on R. Davies' new burn ; killed rabbit on Meikle's ; signs on Davis'B spur ; country between Totara and Otawhao Valleys, killed two rabbits on Smythe's, killed two rabbits on Pountaine's , by river beds at Kumeroa, saw rabbit on Gaisford's opposite Little's ; on part Oringi bush through M'Hardy's. INHPEOTOK M'PHKRSON. East of Napier-road, signs by edgp of manuka. On Jaokson's river bed, slight signs. Killed rabbit on Mokoia. Hill oountry east of Woodville ; killed rabbit on Bridges ; signs on Kemp's burnt spur ; saw rabbit on Nelson's hills and on river bed at willows. Traces at Ngawaparua bridge, driftwood, Traces at Ormond's and Shaw's boundaries. Killed rabbit on Shaw's at toitoi. Saddle-road, Whariti, saw rabbit on J. Morgan's : signs on Green's and R. Morgan's. Started rabbit on Bliss' flat country, Woodville ; signs on W. M'Cormack's, A. M'Cormack's, and Laurence's. On Loveday's Bection, Maharahara, killed rabbit and saw another. Slight signs on Heslop's, near Grainder's oorner. Saw rabbit on Kilford's, Ross' road section, and signs on Soally's. INSPECTOR C. TICKNEE. Anderson's, Kereru, hunting gorse about station, killed two rabbits next Harding's. Saw traces and killed rabbit Lower Aikman's. Killed one at Limestone; started one on Gull's; traces on Lower Mangton and on Big Andrew block by Duff's. Killed rabbit near Andrew's and two on rabbit ground. Many traces near creek, Blake's flat; killed rabbit, saw many traces on ridges. Weber country, numerous traces on top of spur j killed runner, started old one top of Devil's Gully. Numerous traces both sides of Anderson's boundary. Duff's, Whakarara, traces on Gwavas Gwavas boundary and spurs Devil's Gully. Killed doe, took seven young in stop in gully. Killed runner on hogget country; started rabbit near Anderson's boundary ; killed two rabbits started four top of limestone. Country in bad state. Killed rabbit, saw traces on road. Told Mr Britton steps must be taken. Howard's, Smedley ; traces creek, Duff's boundary and Carlyon's paddock. Killed two rabbits. Traces on horse paddock; killed rabbit on long spur, one on Collins, killed two on Makororo; killed one and started two by Whakarara. Many traces on spurs back country; killed three others; run in very bad state. Whakarara settlement, killed rabbit Barlow's, started one Hogg's, many traces. Numerous on Campbell's. Started rabbit on Barlow, junr.'s. Many traces on Carson's. Killed three rabbits on Mrs H. Fletcher's; many signs. Ruahine speoial settlement, many traces Doar's; started rabbit on Petersen's ; numerous signs. Te Obu, killed two rabbits, started eight. Traces all along spurs. Started two rabbits by old oamp. Up right bank of Manga te Wainui, started six rabbits. ' Place in bad state. Finds his distriot in a very bad state from one end to the other ; Howard's Smedley particularly so. Matthew's Whakarara also very bad.

To Waikopiro: Showed Eessima and Madigan where to poison ; traces on Whitson's. Norsewood: Traces on Rossakka's, Christofferson's, Thorkelsen's, Jens Andersen's, and Hallibi^on's. Takapau; Hobson's, traces at sorub and on Nepe te Atua's, opposite Bopjha'e. Oruawharo; Traces on by hill and at rooks opposite Takapau. Down Pouangftb.au stream _ Traces above jupction of Maharakeke river bed, Hatuma, signs at gorge at foot of big hiU, wether country. Killed rabbit on M'Guinness' spur. Hatuma and Oruawhero good. Whenuahau, on several sections no traces. Saw rabbit on top of Wilson's. Norsewood, saw rabbit on J. O'Hara's. Killed rabbit on Gower's, and traoes on Price's, Brieski's, Hansen's, Olson's. Saw rabbit on Hutchinson's; killed one on Frediokßen's. Waikopiro: Morrison Bros., traces on new burn, and on Hutton's new burn. Norsewood: Traoes on Sugden's and EoUeston's.
