Gow informs me that he will furnish a free luncheon on Peace Celebration Day at the Town Hall, Waipukurau, to all strangers and visitors from outside, together with their children. The general management committee comprises Messrs P. Gow (chairman), E. Gilbertson (treasurer), H. T. Jameson and H. Hartley (secretariea), Bogle, Simpaon, Hodding, Potts, Swain, and Eev. 0. L. Tuke. The collecting sub-committee consists of ten ladies and seven gentlemen. There are also sub-committees for the social, fireworks, procession, and sports. Much enthusiasm prevails, and I believe it is intended to make it the premier occasion in the history of the sister township. Constable Carr left for Wairoa on Tuesday night. His successor, Constable Caipns, has not yet arrived. The Peace Celebration Committee for Waipawa held a jpeeting yesterday afternoon, when the following committees were set up, and will immediately receive their instruction lißts :— Canvassing committee : Misses Bosie and Badley, Mrs Cracknel), Messrs J. Williams and Whittington. Sports committee: Messrs Newman, Norris, Tricklebank, Nicholson, Bennett, and VV. H. Bathbone. Children's sports com-
