THAT COMPROMISE.

DELEGATES INDIGNANT. WAYS' MEMORANDUM. Bocoived June 14, 10.40 a.m, London, June 14. The Federal delegates are surprised and indignant at the suggestion that Australia attempt to abandon the comprise arranged with the approval of all the Governments, excepting Queensland. The delegates are confident that Mr Chamberlain will loyally adhere to the compromise, and consider it would be a grave breach of faith for any Australian Government to re-open the matter after agreeing to the compromise, especially since nothing closer to the original bill is obtainable. Mr Kingston is making direct representations respecting Mr Holder's condemnation of the compromise, which he f ully sanctioned. The delegates have at length obtained possession of Chief Justice Ways' memorandum dealing with the bill from the ColonialjOffice.
