TRAINING NOTES.
[Br "Tout."] Hastings, Wednesday. A sharp cold wind was felt this morning, but there was a large number of horses out doing chiefly slow work. Coaur de Lion was the first to move on the grass gallop, which • was very good going. He put in three oirouita at half pace. Tugela and Lady Kemp were next, covering once round at three-quarter pace, and finishing the last cix furlongs of the next round at top. The first-named waß muoh too good for the other one. Bonnie d' Eau put in three rounds at
half pace. Cora Linn did the same. Sirocco moved nicely over three rounds at half pace. Kauri gum was also given long slow work. Donovan and Chance galloped one circuit with a good hold of their heads, and moved freely. The Weaver and Blackberry were associated together over a couple of miles at a good strong three-quarter pace, both moving Blowly. The Miner and Ruamahanga galloped about seven furlongs, finishing together. Mercury and Apremete' put in a couple of rounds at three-quarter pace. Coolgardie did long slow work. He looks very big. Boiler, Morag, St. Brigid followed in that order over two circuits at a good strong half-pace. Woodlander, Tameraire, and The Spinner did the same. Mystify did serviceable work over three rounds, as did Honor, Miss Ormond's Bracelet candidate. She is a useful-looking mare. Tataramoa did long slow work. "VVaihau and Blank were given half-pacing over two rounds. The same was done by Challenger. Ideal, looking very fresh, did long slow work. Carnival, Moifa, and Defoe did useful exercise over a couple of rounds in company. Puketoi and Gryphon did tho same. Passion Fruit, Sylvanus, and Tally-ho galloped six furlonga together, the first-named having all the best of the gallop. Halcyon put in three circuits at half pace. Daphne, sweated, running home the last half-mile of three circuits at top. Tally-ho jumped the brush fence and the double after working on the flat.
