THE LAST SEEN OF HER.

[by telegraph.] Wellington, Wednesday. Captain Lambert, of the steamer Fukaki, and Thomas Malams, carpenter of that vessel, gave evidence before Mr Haselden, &.M., as to having sighted the ill-fated auxiliary schooner Wolverine, between Port Chalmers and the Bluff, in November last. Captain Lambert denied the report that the schooner, whioh was afterwards found bottom up, was flying a signal of distress. When the Pukaki passed her she waß, he said, flying an ordinary signal, and just when his vessel got close enough to have enabled him to read it, someone on the Wolverine hauled it down. The wind was light at the time, and the schooner seemed to be all right, The evidence is to be forwarded to Auokland, where an inquiry t will be held into the loss of tbe vessel.
