THE COMMONWEALTH
Received June 13, 9,45 a.m. Brisbane, Wednesday. Mr Dickaon, Federal delegate, has cabled to the Premier the following as the new reading of clause 74 of the Commonwealth, Bill:— "No question, however arising, as to the limits inter se of tho constitutional powers of the Commonwealth on tho one hand, and those of any State or States on the other, shall be capable of final dooision by any Court other than the High Court, except that appeal may be permitted to the Queen in Couucil from any decision of the High Court on any such question Ijy the consent of the Government concerned, whether parties or not to the litigation, consent to be signified in writing by the Governor-General in oase of the Commonwealth or by the Governor in oase of a State."
> Mr Dickson says that as it leaves the 7 question almost as obscure as previously, : he is seeking information from Mr Chamb erlain as to how it is intended to operate. 1 London, June 12. ' The Federal delegates are at present visiting Highbury. They will inspeot works at Birmingham and Sheffield.
