BREACH OF PROMISE.
VERDICT OP £100. [BY TELEGBAMI.] iNVEROVRGiiiL, Tuesday. The breach of promise action Sarah W. Thorn v. John G. M'Leod was concluded to-day. Defendant was cross-examined with n view of showing that he had recently been keeping company with another lady. He denied this, but admitted that he had escorted the lady, who was secretary of the Christian Endeavor Society, home, and had also been at a picnic at which she was present, but had no matrimonial intentions. The claim was for £1000, and the jury gave a verdict for £100.
