GENERAL NICH AND THE BOXERS.
DENOUNCED BY THE EMPRESS. FORCED TO FIGHT. FEARS TROUBLE WITH THE POWERS. Eoceivod June 12, 1 a.m. Hong Kong, June 11. The Imperial edict denounced General Nick for killing tho Boxers. He was ordered to withdraw his troops to Lutai, 80 miles away. The Boxers surrounding and intercepting General Nich, the latter telegraphed to Peking. He vainly urged the Boxers to disperse. He had no alternative but to fight, and he relies upon the Emperor's mercy, adding, "There will be serious trouble with the Powers unless the Boxers are suppressed."
