BANKRUPTCIES IN OTAGO.
[lIV TiajMRAJiH,] Dunedin, Monday. The bankruptcy statistics for Otagb for 1798 show there were 55 bankruptcies on the petitions of debtors, and 13 adjudications on the petitions of creditors. Thirty-two orders for' immediate discharge were granted, and in nine cases ordpr^ for djschar^e were ''suspended', i'he total amount o£ fins'ec*ir«d liabilities involved in the above bankruptcies was 1632,550 8s 9d, against which were unsecured assets to the amount of .£17,862 9s 3d. Secured assets amounted to 420,729 12s lOd, assets other than secured realised £7446 10s Bd, and the debts proved amounted to .£140,427 4s Id.
