THE OPPOSITION.
AN ACTIVE CAMPAIGN RESOLVED ON. [by telegraph.] [special to uuvke's bay herald.] Wellington, Monday. A meotinff of members of the Opposition was held in the Ohainbsr of Commerce to-night. General questions were discussed at length. It was resolved to place the political position fully before the country, from the platform, during the autumn, and that Captain Russell should open the campaign in about a month. A general election committee was set up, with Mr John Dnthie as chairman, to correspond with supporters in the various constituencies, and assist to arrange for candidates, also for speakers wherever required.
