ACTION BY THE CONSULS.
[per united press association.]
Auckland, Thursday. The German and American Consuls were yesterday busy receiving news from Samoa, and transmitting it by cable to their respective Governments. It is reported that the cable messages to Washington and Berlin cost between .£2OO and .£3OO. The British Consul at Samoa has sent to London, and has asked that an additional inan-o'-war should be despatched to Apia. H.M.S. Tauranga will probably be ordered there at once, and it is possible Admiral Pearson will go down from Sydney.
