ANOTHER CLUB. Beceived January 18, 9.25 a.m. Brisbane, Wednesday. A waistcoat mended in a peculiar fashion has been found near the scene of Hill's murder.. It is regarded as an important clue.' 1 IMPORTANT STATEMENT' BY A WOMAN. HEARD SHOTS FIRED. SHE WAS AFRAID TO' SPEAK OUT. Received January 19, 3.30 a.m. • Bbisbane, Wednesday. It is reported that a woman resident of Gatton informed tho city police authorities that she beard shots fired on tho night of the murder. Next morning two men, whom she can identify, called at her house and asked to be allowed to work there for food. The woman then went to the scene of the murder and discovered the bodies, She placed a portion of dress over one of the girls, t She 'says that the men are well known in the district, and fear prevented her saying anything earlier. She came to Brisbane in preference to informing the local police.
