ANOTHER VIEW.

Sir, — Having waited patiently, I assume the Rev. Mr Colenso considers it beneath his dignity to notice an anonymous scribbler. I would remind him it is not everyone who bas a balance at his bankers, and even in these times our bread may depend upon the goodwill of our neighbors, I had a twofold object in view when last I wrote, firstly, to show how utterly inconsistent with the Master's teaohings suoh utterance were, and, secondly, how little these experts even, though they may be the. elite of the English Church assembled in solemn conclave, understand the Gospel that Christ and His Apostles taught, " the only Gospel under heaven that has power unto salvation " since the year of our Lord 34 or thereabouts. Christ; came in fulfilment of prophecy to open the way, and by living a perfeot life became an acceptable sacrifice and a means of reconciliation for us unto God. That is if we accept His teaching, and the Christian, religion from that time up to the present has been, and in the short future beyond will be, the same as He gave us at the beginning, no more no less, and inasmuch as the Christianty of to-day differs from the primitive Church of the Apostles' time, it is not.the Church, of God at all, but paganism and other abominations modernised to suit the requirements of the present day. The religion of the near future will be Christ Jesus reigning at Jerusalem King of Kings and Lord of Lords, He shall reign in righteousness and in righteousness Bhall He judge the earth and His people with equity. Christianity is not a mere disciplinary code to be altered as we may think proper to suit our requirements or our whims, fancies, or feelings, but a fixed quantity whose author is the Eternal God who changeth not, and it has been the same for all time, and therefore unalterable and unchangeable, and the key-note of which is obedience to God's will. It is only by doing His will we can gain that everlasting life that is promised on this condition only. To talk of a religion of the future to those having the Bible, wherein God has revealed as much of Himself as is good for us to know, shows a great lack of understanding that Book. — I am, &c, Sartor.
